Following the adoption of the Action Plan to enhance preparedness against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) security risks (COM(2017) 610), the European Commission established the CBRN Security Advisory Group, which is composed of representatives from the Member States. The meetings are chaired by DG HOME and include the participation of representatives from several other Commission services.

The group typically convenes twice per year to discuss the evolving threat landscape, ongoing initiatives, and upcoming activities. These meetings also provide an opportunity for Member States to exchange information on relevant actions and developments taking place at the national level.

The afternoon session of the first day will focus on discussions related to the current threat situation and will be held within the DG HOME Secure Zone. The open sessions on the second and third days, taking place at CCAB, will constitute the regular meeting of the Advisory Group. Among other topics, participants will discuss the new developments of the CBRN Action Plan, as announced under the ProtectEU – Internal Security Strategy.

This meeting will serve as an important opportunity to initiate and shape the cooperation of the CBRN Advisory Group for 2026. It is therefore essential to ensure optimal conditions for constructive discussions. Any subsequent meetings in this context may be organised using alternative formats or conducted virtually.
